Open Life of a PixelLife of a Pixel is a canvas with one million pixels. Each one is alive — they have a personality, a mood, behaviors. You can just sit there and watch them exist, or you can zoom in, find one that resonates with you, and adopt it.
What It Is
It’s not a game, not really a tool. It’s closer to a digital aquarium. A million tiny entities going about their lives on a canvas, and you can observe them at whatever scale you want — from the full million-pixel view down to a single pixel’s story.
Adopting a Pixel
If you spot a pixel that seems lonely, or one whose personality you like, you can adopt it. Adopting a pixel means it knows you’re there. That’s it. No mechanics, no rewards. Just the quiet satisfaction of keeping a pixel company.
Why
Some things don’t need a business case. This one started as an experiment in rendering a million interactive entities in the browser, and turned into something oddly calming to look at.
